Kimono Experience: A Cultural Journey for Anthony in Tokyo.

On Tuesday, July 22, 2025, we had the pleasure of introducing Anthony, a young intern from the United States, to one of Japan’s most treasured traditions—the Kimono. Anthony, fresh from the U.S. and eager to experience authentic Japanese culture, was fully immersed in the ritual of wearing a kimono, from head to toe.
The Transformation: From Modern to Traditional
Our Kimono Experience began with a complete transformation. Anthony was dressed in a stunning gray and black kimono, chosen to complement the elegance of the occasion. The intricate layers, delicate fabric, and intricate ties of the kimono are more than just clothing—they represent centuries of history and craftsmanship. With every fold and adjustment, Anthony was transported into a world where tradition meets beauty.
The kimono was carefully accessorized with traditional items such as an obi (sash), obidome (decorative clasp), and obijime (cord), adding layers of sophistication and intricacy to his ensemble. The attention to detail in the selection of each piece made the transformation even more special. Anthony truly embodied the grace and elegance of Japanese culture.
The Photoshoot: Capturing the Essence of Japan
Once fully dressed, it was time for the photoshoot. Anthony stepped into the world of Japanese tradition, and our photographer was ready to capture every moment. The photoshoot took place in an atmosphere filled with charm, capturing both the beauty of the kimono and the joy of Anthony’s cultural exploration.
The shoot was enhanced by the use of numerous traditional accessories, each one bringing out a different facet of the kimono's beauty. From fans to hairpins, the additional props created a perfect setting for a variety of captivating shots.
